About

Presentation of the Association for the Preservation of Meauce Castle

Our association supports restoration projects carried out by the owners each year, such as the large fireplace, the frieze of coats of arms, the dovecote, the conversion of the so-called Mansart barn, as well as the gardens and the landscaped natural park.

We also offer our members the opportunity to lead heritage awareness and outreach projects. By managing the Meauce site, we develop and fund events, research, and publications such as Jean-Marie Nottebaert's book, scheduled for 2024, and a book on the restoration work to be published in 2025.

In 2025, we will organize four major events. With your support, we will support projects such as the development of an outdoor visitor circuit, exhibitions in the Mansard-style barn, and the landscaping of the gardens.

Beyond your financial support, we are looking for volunteers for construction sites, activities, and events, and to exhibit photos or products from local artisans at FestiGrues, for example.

Contact us and let us know you're interested! Together with the owners, we would be delighted to grow the Château de Meauce collective and properly celebrate the 900th anniversary of this historic monument.

Thank you in advance for your commitment.

The President,
Christian Decloquement

The role and objectives of the Friends of Meauce Castle association

Our association's mission is:

  • to promote Meauce,

  • to support research to deepen our understanding of the history of Meauce,@

  • to develop projects or events to mobilize support for the restoration of Meauce

  • to develop volunteer work sites to participate concretely in the work

  • to develop patronage clubs and partnerships with local authorities to support the financing of certain flagship projects

Don't hesitate to let us know if you'd like to participate in these goals!

We need you to build these actions!

The association is run by a board of directors made up of people close to the castle, experts in heritage restoration, or representatives of communities involved in the revival of Meauce.

The aim is to share the adventure of the restoration and offer everyone the opportunity to participate in this ambitious project: "saving this iconic historical monument from peril"....
